Engine Yard Release Notes for October 3rd, 2019 (Stack V6)

Note: As of this release the stable-v6 Stack has now reached General Availability and can be used by all customers.

Action: You apply the following changes the next time you click the Upgrade button for your Engine Yard Stack V6 environment.

Note: For clarity, we refer to this stack as the Engine Yard Ubuntu 19.05 stack. You can access it by using the Stack select field in the Environment UI: stable-v6-1.0.21

It's best practice to upgrade your Engine Yard Ubuntu 19.05 (stable-v6) stack regularly for the latest security and product updates. This update:

  1. Makes Yarn available on all instances (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/132)

  2. Runs filesystem check to fix issues when using snapshots to boot instances. (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/131)

  3. Fixes performance graphs on newly booted stack V6 instances (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/130)

  4. Updates script used by collectd for mysql replication checks. (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/129)

  5. Adds shared_db recipe to allow two applications to share a single database.yml configuration file (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/128)

  6. Fixes performance graphs' unavailability after instance reboot (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/125)

  7. Adds an empty env.custom file in cases where no custom variables are set (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/90)

  8. Adds fail2ban recipe (PR - https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/89 & https://github.com/engineyard/ey-cookbooks-stable-v6/pull/85)
